At a time when most young boys aspire to become cricketers and gamers , master U.JayaVigneshwar chose the road less taken, to inherit the rich musical lineage his parents are scions of. The intricate nuances of gamaka have become child’s play for this young artiste of barely 18 years.
A native of Palakol ,Andhra Pradesh, he has undergone rigorous tutelage from his parents Mandolin Maestros Sri U.P.Raju and Smt U.Nagamani since the tender age of 6. Whilst his innate understanding of music and adept mastery in playing Indian Classical Music on a foreign instrument belie his age, his childish curiosity entails him to not stick to just the taught. A child prodigy, he is fascinated by numerous other genres too and wishes to get a good grasp of them.
To satiate his thirst for musical knowledge and enhance his performing style , he is also learning vocal from Sri P.B.Srirangachary.
A First Year Student of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda College , Mylapore , Chennai . He did his schooling in Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Virugambakkam, Chennai . He is extensively involved in curating and composing music for various school events. Fondly called ‘Chinmaya Wizard’ by his school, he has also performed at numerous school programmes. He is also the School “Cultural Secretary”
An upcoming , regular at the music scene, JayaVigneshwar has played many concerts with his parents too. His debut solo was at the esteemed Thiruvaiyaru Thyagaraja Festival in 2015, a precursor to a century of solo concerts he has to his credit till date. To name a few he performed in Shree Krishna Gana Sabha, Viridhachalam and Sree Rama Bhaktha Samajam, Chrompet. He has performed for various organizations and sabhas in Chennai such as Brahma Gana Sabha , Karpagam Gardens, Swara Laya Fine Arts, Reddy Patti Swamigal, Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan, Parthasarathy Swami Sabha ,Global Carnatica ,Sampoornam Foundation, Parampara Festival, Chennaiyil Thiruvaiyaru, Arkay Convention Centre, Nadhaneerajanam SVBC TTD, Satya Sai Baba Prashanthi Nilayam(Puttaparthi), Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam (Kanchipuram), Kapaleeshwarar Temple, Sarvani Sangeetha Sabha, Chinmaya Heritage Centre, Ramani Maharishi Ashram Thiruvannamalai. He has also performed in the Events such as Nadalahari , which was conducted by Kum.A.Kanyakumari and Events conducted by Thyagayya TV . He also participated in Thyagaraja Aradhana conducted at Music Academy .
Through out India ,he has performed in many states such as Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra apart from Tamil Nadu. He is a regular at the December Music Festival enthralling rasikas at Vanimahal, Parthasarathy Swami Sabha, Rasika Ranjani Sabha, Nungambakkam Fine Arts and also in Veena Festival at Narada Gana Sabha, Chennai.
In 2016, he has toured AUSTRALIA along with his parents to perform about 10 mandolin trio concerts covering cities like Melbourne and Sydney. JayaVigneshwar has performed more than 300 CONCERTS and has effortlessly rendered mellifluous musings at many wedding concerts. He performs regularly at temples too. Notably he has been accompanied and blessed by various senior legendary musicians. One can enjoy his performances from videos in YouTube too. A forerunner for the musically inclined of his generation, he can often be caught humming a tune to himself if not captivating music lovers at one of the renowned sabhas.
In 2021 - He is awarded First place in The Hindu Margazhi Music Contest – 2021 .
In 2022 – Performed for the Prestigious International Cultural Jamboree Festival in Alva’s College , Moodbidri , Mangalore .
In 2022 - JayaVigneshwar is awarded with the prestigious (Mumbai) Sri Shanmukhananda Bharat Ratna Dr.M.S.Subbulakshmi Fellowship in Music for Mandolin . He is the Youngest & First Recipient of this Award for Carnatic Mandolin .
In 2023 – Performed Mandolin Family Quartet for the International Sacred Spirit Festival of India in Nagaur Fort & Mehrangarh Fort , Jodhpur , Rajasthan
